Yes, it's that time again! Here's the 5th video in our series of
Costin Chioreanu's screenings from our 2019 anniversary gig. This one's for "Misty Sleep" from our 1999 debut album "Mercury". Most of these paintings are privately owned - in this case, if you want to see this painting live, you'll have to make friends with owner Kim A. Johansen :)

Few are being hit worse by the COVID situation than all the people who make live shows, festivals and tours possible. These are the people who do all the invisible, heavy, tiresome work, the ones who are still working when the band are sitting down for an aftershow beer, or who spent weeks emailing or on the phone to find a suitable venue on the right date between Paris and Berlin just to have it cancelled. There are so many different professions BEHIND the stages, all essential to making the shows even happen, let alone sound and look good.

Unlike musicians, they don't have the opportunity of selling their merch online, livestreaming a gig, releasing a new album, crowdfunding a new project. Most of them are self-employed/freelancers. That means no gigs = no income.

Solidarity between on-stage and off-stage workers has never been more important. Richard Wikstrand is busy these days - right now he's doing an acoustic live stream with his new band!

Venus Flycatchers er et relativt ferskt rockeband, men består av medlemmer som har lang fartstid i
rockens tjeneste. Medlemmene har har spilt i og medvirket på skiver med bl.a Sterk naken og
biltyvene, Chrome Divison, Peltz, Old Mans Child, Dimmu Borgir, Stephen Ackles, Minas Tirith,
Madder Mortem m.m..
Venus Flycatchers ble startet i 2018, av Kristin Evjenth og Richard Wikstrand. Etter å ha skrevet, og
gjort demoer av et tyvetalls låter, begynte ting å ta form, og de fikk med seg Vegard Engh på bass, og
Richards tidligere bandkollega fra Chrome Division, Tony Kirkemo på trommer.
Venus Flycatchers leverer energisk, og dynamisk rock'n roll med inspirasjon hentet fra 70 talls rock,
90 tallets grunge, og det meste midt i mellom.

Times being what they are, it looks like it'll be a while before we can come play for you. But thankfully we're living in the digital age, so now we're proud to announce the first ever Madder Mortem live stream gig!

Presented by The Progspace, and brought to you by BRENN ALT and ThrillOut Live, we'll be streaming to you from the infamous Rock In venue in Oslo on Saturday May 30th, 2020.
